Pentium system with
a unique architecture which allows upgrade of Pentium,
Alpha, or Power PC Processors seamlessly. Syvax defined
the architecture, designed the hardware, modified the
BIOS, and shipped early production units. Required unique
packaging of high speed circuits. Provided field support
to early customers. Last upgrade was a 500 MHz DEC Alpha
processor. Resulted in two patents.
Sun Microsystems
Designed the
Sun Microsystems, SPARC engine Ultra AX motherboard:
an upgradeable Ultra Sparc system running at 250MHz with
a 64 bit PCI bus. In production.
Patient tracker
A
system for hospitals to track and identify new born
babies. RF interfaces to substation controllers and a
main computer / servers. Designed the RF units and the
substation controllers. Provided hardware and firmware /
software design and design management.
Seagate
Test equipment
for Seagate technology. Provided the design of an
automated Read/Write channel chip on flex, tester. The
tester performed the manufacturing test and also
characterization. Syvax provided the management, electric
design, DSP programing, and production units for their
world wide testers.
Various embedded
control projects
Various embedded
control projects using 808x technology. Provided both
hardware and firmware. Projects included an Internet
telephone and a handheld computer which reads Power
Meters via radio link. Handheld in production for three
years.
IOMEGA's JAZ
removable disk drive
Provided the
sustaining engineering effort for IOMEGA's JAZ removable
disk drive. Managed both IOMEGA and Syvax hardware and
firmware engineers on a contract basis.
